In keeping with Cindy's idea that we are part of this so called "blogging community" here is a link to another person's blog.

I think I would get along well with this guy, we have a similar sense of humour. I actually came apon his blog entirely randomly while researching the correct usage/spelling of the word "enfused".

The quote that caught my attention is the following:
"If I had to sum up Central Florida in one descriptive phrase it would be this:
----There are a lot of Camaros here."

Doesn't the cliche go:
Oscar Wilde: "I wish I'd said that"
Response: "You will Oscar, you will" (George Bernard Shaw?....or are they entirely different eras)

I'm sure dad can expound on the names of the real participants of this famous dialogue.

In 1969, just before Cindy was born, I joined JWT in Cape Town. I gave up my company car and we bough a second hand LH Drive VW with a half a clutch. I remember borrowing the JWT Ford Escort station wagon to take Mom to the Booth Memorial hospital and again to fetch Cindy and Mom. When I applied for the job, Asst A/E on exciting Pepsi, I was rejected for lack of experience. But they said I could work on the boring Old Mutual Insurance account which had given JWT 90 days notice, and if they kept it they would keep me. Young and foolish, I took the job and the risk. We kept OM and they gave me all the booze business at Sedgwick, which was bought later by SFW, Stellenbosch Farmer's Winery. 6 months later they fired the Pepsi guy and gave me his Account Executive job handling Pepsi which was based in JHB. Testing out this iPhone blogger application and I'm struck with the concept that there should be a reality show for overbearing mothers entitled "What not to Mummy" Each week they would profile some the worst overbearing mothers and teach them how to lighten up a little and let their kids grow up already. Tim comes to town

Tim is here, all 6'1" of him, a virtual eating machine. Said hello to New York with a midnight street hot dog chased by a Baconator from Wendy's for the car home. Followed by a mound of Indian food at the mandatory Coramandel first night.(Followed by the usual breakfast of my leftover curry). 20 Crabs at the crabfest while sucking on a Long Island Iced Tea following a picnic and a couple of beers. Record amounts of fried Calamari and Japanese Tempura. Gallons of multicolored liquids consumed without visibly swallowing. Love every minute of time with this accomplished young man nicknamed "Jeeves" as he chauffeurs us everywhere.
